- A man whose Chevy was being towed started a fight with the tow truck driver in NYC.
- After stealing the tow truck, the man hit multiple cars with his partially secured pickup.
- Police are still searching for the suspect who fled on foot after crashing into a bus.
A wild road rage incident went down on Friday morning in Brooklyn, New York, when a tow truck driver attempted to haul away a Chevrolet Silverado. A second man, who appears to be the owner of the pickup, wasn’t having it. After getting into an altercation with the towing professional, the Chevy owner hopped in the tow truck and left a trail of devastation.
The situation unfolded on 53rd Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn a little before 11 a.m. Evidently, the parked Chevrolet blocked a service door which led to the tow truck coming to haul it away. Video of the scene picks up just as the tow truck driver and the Chevrolet owner begin to get into a verbal argument.

The Silverado is halfway off of the ground at this point but the tow driver hasn’t done anything more to secure it to the rig. He stops working on that as the Chevrolet owner confronts him, threatening him, and shoving him at one point. Then, the Chevy owner hops into the tow truck’s front seat and begins to drive away.
What he seems to have forgotten in his fit of rage is that the driver’s side door to the Silverado is still open. As he drives off, the door hits a parked car and flips backward. Then, as the tow truck continues down the road, that open door hits and damages several other vehicles on the same road. To make matters even worse, as the man turns a corner, his pickup falls off of the tow truck completely.
The man did not stop but instead continued driving the tow truck until ultimately hitting a city bus where he allegedly ran away on foot. News 12 reports that police are still investigating the situation.
As of this writing, the NYPD hasn’t issued any statement on the situation and all indications are that the man who drove away is still unaccounted for. We get the feeling that he left a little too much evidence behind, in the shape of a Chevrolet Silverado specifically, to get away scott free.
