Challenger Hellcat Tries To Rev Up The Crowd, Ends Up Rear-Ending Van Instead

  • A Dodge Challenger owner tried to show off their engine while another person recorded a video.
  • Instead, they rear-ended a van in traffic when they couldn’t stop fast enough.
  • This is only the latest example of a situation where driving skill ran out before horsepower did.

Public roads are the place where many of us live a large portion of our lives. Sometimes, that part of our day gets filled with a fun, playful, and powerful sports car. For one person, an interaction with a Dodge Challenger ended with a crumpled muscle car and a bruised ego.

This video comes to us courtesy of Reese Bagwell, a TikTok user who claims they were simply asking the Dodge owner to rev their engine before the crash. No doubt, the Challenger driver did indeed rev their engine, but perhaps not the way they expected. Instead of doing so in neutral, they left the car in drive which added speed to the event.

Considering that traffic sat several feet ahead, this appeared to be a gigantic misstep in the calculations of the driver. In less than a second, they go from proudly touting their V8 to panicking while under 100 percent brake pedal engagement. Despite seeing brake lights for quite a number of feet before the car ahead, nothing stops this Dodge from meeting its end.

It smacks the back of a van as though it had a grudge against it. The resulting damage is significant and dismal. The radiator, bumper, fenders, and timing gear all need repair to one degree or another.

Somewhat hilariously, the TikTok post features a warning that “participating in this activity could result in you or others getting hurt.” Breaking news everyone, TikTok wants you to know that rear-ending another person could result in injury. Be safe out there, folks.

In any case, this is far from the first time that we’ve chronicled a driver failing to bridle their horsepower. Hust these past couple of weeks alone, we’ve seen a Mustang crash into a Corvette, a Lexus LFA that needs saving, and a Dodge Charger Hellcat that flipped. Hopefully in this case and all the others, the drivers in question learn from their mistakes.

@reese.b223 all he had to do is drop it to neutral n rev it🤦‍♂️ #foryou #fyp ♬ original sound – Reese Bagwell
