What Do You Want To Know About The 2024 Nissan Z Nismo?

  • The 2024 Nissan Z Nismo is the quickest trim in the model range.
  • It starts at $64,990 and features 420 horsepower.
  • We’re driving one for a week so tell us what you want to know about it.

When we turn the page into 2025, the Nissan Z will be the brand’s only sports car on sale in the USA. Despite living on with several components that date back to the previous generation of the Z, it’s selling fairly well. Now, we’re getting a chance to drive the range-topping Nismo model. What do you want to know about it?

Our own Brad Anderson had a crack at the normal Nissan Z down under a little over a year ago. He came away with the impression that it was exactly what we were all hoping for. Not long after that though, Nissan introduced the Z Nismo, an uprated version of the sports car with more power, more downforce, and a stiffer suspension setup.

Under the hood, the engine now makes 420 horsepower (313 kW) and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque. Sadly for enthusiasts, Nissan only offers this trim with an automatic gearbox. At least it’s not a CVT but instead employs nine gears to transmit power to the rear wheels only. According to the EPA, it’ll get up to 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway for a combined score of 19.

The cabin is full of interesting tidbits and some exclusive to the Nismo trim. That includes Nismo-branded Recarco bucket seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, and unique floor mats. The engine programming is a bit different too. Only the Nismo gets a Sport+ driving mode. Launch control is also standard along with “Nismo-tuned” power steering.
